Audi Q7 – 2011 Audi Q7

The Audi Q7 is Audi’s first ever SUV offering with a recent refresh and a new engine lineup. The large crossover provides seating for seven and rides on Volkswagen’s 7L platform. The design was originally based on the Audi’s Pikes Peak quattro concept car, and mechanically the Q7 is similar to both the Volkswagen Touareg and Porsche Cayenne.
The Audi Q7 continues to deliver distinctive elegance, lots of cargo room and six- or seven-passenger seating. With new supercharged engines for this year, it’s even more powerful and efficient than ever. However, its high price still means there are plenty of others in this class that offer more for the money.

The Audi Q7 gets some much-needed changes for 2011 — but you wouldn’t know by looking at it. Rather, the substantial changes are under the hood. Gone are the sluggish 3.6-liter V6 and 4.2-liter V8 engines. Instead, they’re replaced by two supercharged 3.0-liter V6s paired with a new eight-speed automatic transmission.
The 2011 Audi Q7 is just a so called improved model. Not only the skin has been revamped but also the engine has undergone the swap treatment. For me, the Q7 is just another vehicle which came for a testing analysis and nothing else. For the buyers, however, there is a word of caution. There are lot more worthy competitors with more snob value than this car and with better towing capabilities. The towing capacity for this car ranks in at 6,600 pounds, that is only once it is properly equipped. If I had that much money on me, I would have chosen the Porsche Cayenne, even though it doesn’t have an extra set of seats. For those looking for the Audi brand, there is nothing better than the Q7 at this stage. The top end Audi Q7 price is $60,275 with all the options kitted in.
